The UNSUB has made contact.
After a rapid string of grisly murders shakes the usually peaceful city of Arlington, Virginia, the sadistic killings of young women lull into a deceptive calm. Agent Sadie Bonds knows the terror isn’t over; serial killers don’t stop until caught.
And this sadist has targeted the profiler, revealing pieces of her dark past and weaving her secrets into each gruesome crime scene. Is the killer someone from Sadie’s past, her present? Or is he part of a fated future she brought on herself? The answer lies within the riddle of the copycat killings, ones mimicked after the infamous Blood Countess.
As tension brews in the department awaiting the UNSUB’s next move, Sadie’s more than on edge—her deviant cravings for the possible perpetrator have ratcheted out of control. She needs the feel of Colton’s ropes binding her, sheltering her from stark reality.
Only Colton Reed has his own twisted secrets that threaten to unravel not only Sadie as they come to light, but the UNSUB’s carefully constructed web now entangling both the profiler and her sexy bondage rigger.
Is Sadie too close to this case to be objective, or is the UNSUB closer to her than she ever imagined…
This book was intense! Gah. Everything really stepped up a notch. The UNSUB won’t stop until he gets Sadie one way or the other and his tactics are seriously creepy. It honestly makes you question how he knows so much, so it’ll be interesting to find out who he is.
The tension between Sadie, Quinn, and Carson really adds to the overall tension of the book. They’re each keeping secrets from the other, hiding possible avenues in the investigation because they each have their own agendas and loyalties. Carson is an asshole with a capital A; the douchey move he made on Sadie honestly made me want to punch him in the dick myself. If I want anyone to be the killer working inside the police department then it would have to be him. I am 100% convinced that Quinn is madly in love with Sadie but in complete denial about it. It’s adorable how protective of her he can get.
On the other hand, Colton’s character constantly drifts between over-protective, sensual lover and hella creepy potential serial killer. We found out his not so secret secret in this one (which honestly wasn’t much of a surprise). AND THE CLIFFHANGER (especially after that steamy hot couple of chapter)? Honestly, how am I supposed to wait patiently for the next instalment? I need to find out what happens, like, yesterday.
